Naples, Florida

The morning of February 22nd, 2003, we headed for Naples where we had a one-night reservation at Naples RV Resort, a Coast to Coast park.  How tickled we were to discover that we could instead stay four nights because someone had left early.  This was a VERY special day for us, our 40th wedding anniversary.  Following a suggestion by one of the ladies in the office, we drove out to Marco Island to the Snook Inn for dinner.   An early celebration in California with all the kids and grandkids was remembered fondly as the two of us spent the evening together alone.

With three extra nights in the area, we were able to check out Naples.  Gerry played his first 18-holes of golf with a group from the RV park, I did a bit of scrapbooking, and we explored the beach.   Tin City is an area right downtown on the water with good places to eat and lots of little shops.

One day we left early morning and drove up past Fort Meyer and over to Sanibel and Captiva Islands.  At the very end of Captiva Island we found a public beach where we could soak up some sun.  A few brave souls were in the water, but we were content to walk the beach and sit a while.
