Lodi, California
We arrived in Lodi way ahead of schedule when we learned of Gary's passing. We did not expect to make it to his son Richard's (Terry's godson) college graduation, but Gary's death changed our plans (see Sacramento Link for graduation pictures). The immediate family gathered for a quiet luncheon afterward in Lodi. A few days later the service for Gary was held. It was a touching ceremony with a flag folding ceremony honoring Gary's service time, as well as a ceremony by the Elks Lodge (Gary was a past Grand Exalted Ruler of the Lodi Elks Lodge). Several family members spoke eloquently about Gary, and many family photos were displayed at lunch afterward. We stayed in the area for a couple of weeks to see Gerry's two sisters, Ann and Colleen (and Bill), and sister-in-law Lena, as well as to spend time with Sandy and Richard.
