We actually stopped at Beale AFB just north of Sacramento overnight before arriving at Travis. As members of the Air Force Camping Club, we needed to stay at two more bases to earn 5 more free nights. Staying at Travis also gave us the chance to have Terry's best buddy (also a Terry) come to visit us. One day we drove into San Francisco and another day Terry brought her sister Bonnie and took us to the Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley for a wine tasting tour. What a treat! The castle is a 121,000 square foot replica of a 12th century Tuscan castle with a great hall, dungeon, and torture chamber and lots of delicious wine.
