Port Angeles, Washington

It is only about an hour from Brinnon to Port Angeles, but it is a beautiful drive.  Although scotch broom is classified as a noxious weed (because it aggressively displaces native plants and trees), the bright yellow plant, blooming along the roadways, is an attractive one that we first saw in the Seattle area.  Once at Terry's brother Tim's, we pulled into the front yard and set up.  Once again, Tim played tour guide, taking us to some of the same spots as last time, but in the spring everything looks a bit different than it did when we were here in the fall (of 2006).  Olympic National Park still had snow on the ground, and Hurricane Ridge itself was still covered in deep snow.
