Augusta, Georgia

Augusta was a good place to stop overnight on our way to Gaffney.   We drove downtown to check out the riverfront and find a place to eat dinner.  As luck would have it, we passed by the Sacred Heart Cultural Center just as something was going on.  The city purchased the old Catholic church that was to be torn down.  The brickwork on it is amazing.  The Augusta Children's Chorale was minutes away from presenting their spring concert.  When we asked about what was going on, one of the ladies there with them gave us tickets.  Since 1991, more than 350 young singers have participated in the Chorale.  What a treat for us!
