Attracted by the bronze statues on a main street in downtown Zanesville, we wandered into the studio and gallery of Alan Cottrill - who just happened to be at his desk there, surrounded by his creations.    His story is an interesting one.  At the age of 38, after a stint in college, the army, working as a truck driver, and founding a successful pizza franchise, he touched clay for the first time and found his passion.  After moving to New York to study sculpture and anatomy, he returned to his hometown of Zanesville where he sculpts seven days a week.
