Our return to Texas was not without incident.
At our first stop in Fort Stockton, we encountered 5 inches of snow - enough to
close I-10 into San Antonio. We filled with diesel (in case we had to run
the generator if power went out), filled our propane tank and loaded up with
groceries. Then we spent 3 days watching movies and taking it easy.
Rather than head up to the Hill Country to Lake Pointe, our home RV park, we
decided to stay at Lackland Air Force Base where Gerry had an upcoming
appointment. With rain and nasty weather in the forecast and Terry
fighting a cold or flu, our best choice seemed to be just to stay put.
When the sun finally came out a week later, we headed up to Lake Pointe and the
official end of our 2006 Journey.
