In 1973-1974 we were stationed in New Orleans
where we acquired a taste for Louisiana Cajun cooking. We are
fortunate enough to have friends in the area, some that we met in the Rio
Grande Valley the last couple of years. Nothing is more Cajun than
crawfish and Jimmy and Janelle did up a feast for us when we passed
through. Although Jimmy's cousin Paul is in the midst of medical
treatments, he was able to pop over and join us for the feast. His
wife Gracie had surgery that morning, so we did not get to see her this
time. Ira and Jan live in a nearby town, so we brought Jimmy
and Janelle and met them for lunch at a little Cajun cafe for brunch, not
far from the Evangeline Oak tree.
