Charlie & Della are Navy friends from our last tour in Corpus Christi before Gerry retired.  They have been full time RVers for awhile, but finally bought a home near a lake in Charlie's old stomping grounds with lots of room for our RV to park next to theirs.

They showed us around the area, including a little museum in nearby New London, the scene in 1937 of one of the worst school disasters in U.S. history.  A gas leak under the school building lead to the disaster in which more than 300 children, teachers and parents died.  Following the explosion, the demand for measures insuring that such an accident would never happen again led to the passing of a bill in Congress requiring a malodorant be put in natural gas.
