Thunder Bay was the first stop in
two weeks with no family to meet, so we were back to being tourists again.
In the downtown area at a Veterans Memorial we met four Canadian World War II
veterans decked out in medals for a photo shoot for the local paper.  They
have been invited to present a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in
Ottawa at the 60th anniversary of V.J. Day.  We also met Mr. & Mrs. S.J.
Shaffer (uncle to Paul Shaffer of Letterman) who had donated a pair of anchors
for the memorial.   We also visited McKay Scenic Outlook high over the
city, but it was too overcast to see much.
