Our first stop in Colorado was in Grand Junction where we have friends from Corpus Christi.  Ken was on the staff with Gerry and both he and Carol lived in Lodi at one time.  They were wonderful tour guides.  Grand Junction lies in a scenic valley with the "Monument" on one side and the "Book Cliffs" on the other side and the Grand Mesa at one end, each a wonder of nature in itself.
