Gillette, Wyoming

July 2004

Some of our good friends from our D.C. days (Lorna & Olive) are from Rozette, a very small town not far from Gillette.  We got into town two days before the National High School Rodeo Finals were to begin.  Although we didn't stick around, we did make it to a special bull riding event the night before and we stopped in to say hello to their cousins who run the local cafe, Butch & Norma.

Norma & Gerry Bull Ride Rodeo Queens

Forty five miles from Gillette, on our way to Billings, Montana, we had a blowout on an inside back tire.  Luckily we were fine and Gerry was able to navigate to the side of the road quickly.  Good Sam's Emergency Road Service came through for us and were there within 45 minutes.  In another 45 minutes we were on our way.  Not without a list of things to be fixed.  It tore up the underside of the motorhome and cut a wiring harness.
