Once we hit Lake Pointe RV Resort, our home park at Canyon Lake, Texas, we really feel like we're coming home.   Lots of members re in the park for the big Octoberfest celebration.  It's fun seeing the folks we know, but also nice to make some new friends and get to know others just a bit better.

We took lots of pictures for Octoberfest - there was so much going on.  Everyone enjoyed the food, the fellowship, the drawings, the dancing - and the deer.

Unfortunately, we also lost a friend while we were there.  Dub Sones had been a plankholder at the park and a good friend to lots of folks there for a long, long time.  Gerry enjoyed working with him on projects and Terry loved playing partners with him in pinochle.  After a stroke on his way back to Lake Pointe, he died shortly thereafter.  He will be sorely missed by all.

One unexpected treat was finally meeting Paula Harmer, the Pocketmail Lady.   Recommended by a friend, Paula arranged Terry's purchase of her pocketmail device by phone.   During the past 3 years, we were almost in the same place at the same time as the Harmers who are also full-timers (Tampa & Boston).  We finally connected in San Antonio.  I bought the Pocketmail device after 9-1-1 to be sure I would never be out of touch with my family.  For anyone who doesn't want the hassle of dealing with computers, yet wants to stay in touch via email - this is perfect.  And Paula provides excellent support for the product!!!
