Westborough, Massachusetts

2003

Westborough just happened to be not far from Boston.  My great-great grandparents on my mother's side were buried there and we decided to see if we could find the gravestones.  A stop at the local Catholic Church proved fruitful.  They were able to tell us the section of St. Luke's Cemetery to find.  We also checked the reference section at the local library, hoping to get additional information about the family, but there was nothing new.  At least it confirmed information we have.  When we finally found the cemetery itself, we thought we would have to walk the entire section to find the markers.  But as we drove along, we could see them from the road.

My mother's grandfather, Napoleon Roberge, was born in Quebec and came to Massachusetts where he worked as a shoemaker in Westborough.  In 1877 he married Virginia Plante the daughter of Pierre Zephirin Plante and Sophie Granger.   After her parents died, they settled moved to North Dakota where I was born many, many years later.
