We found a Coast to Coast campground on the southern shores of the St. Laurence River. We expected it to be much closer to Montreal. It is less than 20 miles from the U.S.A. border near Ft. Covington, New York. We thought we would have to backtrack to continue on to Toronto; however, other RVers suggested we take the opportunity to gas up in the U.S. and then continue on into Ontario at Cornwall. So that is the plan. We spent one day visiting Old Montreal and the Port of Montreal and just happened upon the Mosiacultures Internationales along the canals where we spent several hours. This horticultural event has been hosted by Montreal for the last several years and will be returning to Asia next year.
The following day we had lunch with Dom and Paul, the owners of Yodo Bikes. They distribute Mike's Atomlab products in Canada. Dom helped me out by interpreting for me with Yvette Roberge when we visited the Island of Orleans in Quebec. They suggested we might enjoy the Botanical Gardens and provided directions. They were right! Part of the entrance package that we bought was a tram ride to the top of the tower at Olympic Stadium. What a phenomenal view of Montreal!

Several people told us about the underground at Montreal. There are many, many miles of interconnecting plazas, shopping centers and subway stops that are 4 and 5 levels deep. During the very cold Montreal winters, many people who live and work in the city manage to get around quite easily without ever going outdoors. Our last stop in Montreal was near the McGill Subway station where we parked in a typical parking garage. However, we were able to take the elevator down another level into a shopping mall, where we had supper before heading back out to the RV park.
