Return to Texas

Before we could hit the road, Terry had to finish up commitments to her customers in Corpus Christi.  After we bought the motorhome, we parked on a friend's property for several months before leaving.  But this is not just any property.  It is a ten-acre horse farm/ranch.  David and Carol have both been Terry's customers over the years.  In fact, we both spent a great deal of time with David at his shop.  They graciously offered us a spot where we had full hookups.  Highlights of the property are the two Clydesdale horses that Gerry has had the privilege of driving in parades, weddings, and other activities.  These gentle, docile animals are often let loose to roam the property and we enjoyed watching them from the motorhome.

We left Canyon Lake on Friday, the 11th of October for Beeville, Texas to spend a couple of days at the Glen & Jinny's country home.  Their two horses had babies while we were away, so we were tickled to finally see them.  They also have a wonderful organ that practically plays itself.  I managed to learn one song, Paper Roses, that didn't sound all that bad.  Discovered that the Reese's family would be at a 4-H horse show in Refugio on Saturday, so we all piled in the Saturn to cheer him (and Brit) on.  We brought Reese back to Beeville with us for the night since he was so tickled to see us again.  Since Jinny works for a bank and had Monday off, we decided to stay until Tuesday morning.  Reese had to go back to school on Monday, so David met us halfway (in Mathis) to pick up Reese.  Reese also won PeeWee High Point for the show with three 2nd places and one 4th place.

We had hoped to get back up to Lake Pointe for at least a couple of weeks before heading east, but just couldn't get away.  We spent only 4 days there, long enough to get re-acquainted with friends we made on our first trip.  Terry spent time in the office working with Judy and Mary on QuickBooks.

Another nice place to park. Gerry helping with hamburger night. The polar bears try out the swimming pool.
