Tammy Juanita McGuire
Tammy Juanita McGuire- beloved daughter, sister and friend to many passed away October 26th, 2023 at age 51 at The University of Texas San Antonio Cancer Hospital, in San Antonio Texas. Tammy was a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. Tammy was born to proud parents David and Adeline Ann McGuire on March 31st, 1972 in Bennington, Vermont.
Tammy loved car racing while being involved in the pit crew, rock concerts, taking part of local cancer walks, painting, traveling to New Mexico, Cancun and even visiting Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida. One of her favorite pastimes was enjoying concerts with her mom at Brewsters and just hanging out listening to music with her. One of her mom’s best memories was taking Tammy and her siblings to see Candy Cane Lane during Christmas time in Corpus Christi.
Tammy cherished her sweet cats, Cupcake, Whiskers, and Charlie. She lived for her beautiful cats. Tammy is described as having a wonderful personality which her mom credits for her winning “Miss Congeniality” of Miss Texas not once but twice! She had not an enemy in the world, was honest and a hard worker. She was also a member of the Junior League.
Tammy attended school in Pownal, Vermont and Spearman, Texas. She graduated from Ray High School and graduated as a Medical Secretary at Southern Careers in Corpus Christi, Texas. Tammy also graduated from Barbizon Modeling School in Amarillo, Texas.
Tammy worked at CCAD Navy Base as a PreShop Analyst in Corpus Christi. She had many other jobs using her education at Turf and Irrigation, Tractor Supply, Padre Ford, Access Ford, Spearman- B & B Sales and Trimmel’s Plumbing. Tammy was able to use her secretary education certificate for many jobs.
Tammy was most proud of the years she dedicated to gathering donations for the Corpus Christi Citizens Police Academy; she was a big supporter of local law enforcement's ability to include its citizens.
Tammy loved her siblings more than anything in the word. Her cherished brother, Davey; Sister, Patty and all of her cousins of Smyrna, New York.
Tammy is preceded in death by her father, David Monroe McGuire.
Left behind to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy is her mother, Adeline Ann McGuire; brother, David McGuire of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Patty McGuire of Scott City, Kansas; and beloved nephew, Calvin Jarmer of Scott City, Kansas.
Tammy’s family would like to acknowledge the 24 hours loving care she received from her doctors and nurses at the University of Texas San Antonio Cancer Hospital. Her family will be forever grateful.
