Stanley A. Cronig

Stanley A. Cronig of Centerville, MA, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2023 at the age of 98 while holding hands with his wife of 67 years, Cynthia (Kostick) Cronig. He leaves behind a brother, Harvey Cronig of Centerville, MA, and many beloved nieces and nephews and their children.

Stanley was raised on Martha’s Vineyard, where his family owned the famed Cronig’s Market. He served active duty in the Army as a First Lieutenant and was also a 32 degree Mason. He went on to Boston University School of Business and then went on to receive his Master of Science in Financial Services. He wrote a financial column for the Cape Cod Times for numerous years. Along with his wife Cynthia they co-authored many books on life insurance and mutual funds.

After retirement he began his second career as a nature photographer. For more than two decades he and Cynthia roamed the world taking photographs. He was a member of the Newton and Cape Cod Camera Clubs. His work has appeared in a variety of national and regional level competitions, winning many awards along the way.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3 at 11am at Cape Cod Synagogue, 145 Winter Street, Hyannis, MA, followed by burial at Mosswood Cemetery in Cotuit. Shiva will be held following burial at his late residence. Proof of vaccination required.
