Michael L. Metzinger
Michael Leonard Metzinger of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin passed away July 12, 2015, at the age of 69.
He was born August 13, 1945, in Chicago to the late Leonard L. and Agnes Metzinger. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was employed for many years by the Department of Transportation in Wisconsin Rapids and was later a business agent for AFSCME.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, as an air crewman, flying mostly anti-submarine missions in Vietnam, aboard P3 Orion aircraft.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Boeding; sister, Cathy; stepmother, Eva; children, Jeffrey and Sarah (Michael Carroll;) and grandchildren, Meghan and Michael Carroll. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Also survived by his furry kids, George, Gracie and Dylan.
Mike will be remembered for his sense of humor, his one-liners and his ability to strike up a conversation with everyone.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, July 17, all at the funeral home. Private internment will occur at a later date in Summity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha County would be appreciated.
