George J "Pete" Burley
George J. "Pete" Burley of Everett, Washington passed away on June 25, 2012 at the age of 73 after a brief battle with cancer. George was born January 31, 1939 in Bottineau, North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Malthide "Millie" Burley, and his brother, Gerard Burley. Pete is survived by his siblings, Paul Burley of Brier, WA, Charles Burley of Kent, WA, Mary Burley of Everett, WA; and his nieces and nephew, Debbie, Barbie and Shane.
He was deeply loved by family and friends for his devotion, loyalty, generosity, kindness, compassion and his keen sense of humor.
George graduated from Edmonds High School in 1955, then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served until 1957. He then continued his education at the University of Washington, in 1961, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree and graduated in 1965. During his lifetime George worked for the Great Northern Railroad, as a journalist for the Longview Daily News and then as the Entertainment Editor for the Everett Herald. After his career in Journalism, George then went into business for himself, first as co-owner of Odyssey Stamp and Coin and then he went on to start Pandagraphics Printing that he operated for 23 successful years before retiring.
George was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. Services were held on August 13, 2012, at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Everett, WA.
