Alamo Village

Brackettville, Texas

2002

The Alamo Village in Brackettville, Texas, is a movie location that serves as a fort, hacienda, frontier town and a deserted Mexican village and is the only replica of the 1836 Alamo Mission in the world.  It was built in 1957 for John Wayne's epic movie, The Alamo.  Countless movies over the years have been filmed here, including Return of Josie Wales, Lonesome Dove, Bad Girls, Streets of Laredo, as well as Alamo the Price of Freedom shown at the Imax Theatre in San Antonio (we'd seen in once again just a week or so before.)  For more information, check out their web site.
